The seating was a little close together, but we've grown accustomed to such arrangements at shows of this nature. Enjoying a few more drinks, we were eventually shown to our seats. We encountered another bar and a small seating area upon arrival. This charming setup set the eccentric tone for what awaited us. A passage resembling a bowling alley-themed hallway, complete with sound effects, led the way. It was a cool little hang with a wonderful bartender that served up the most interesting drinks you could ever imagine.Īfter my second 'SADDLESORE' (Suntory Toki Whisky, Sherry, Bénédictine ), and my wife's second martini, let's just say we were loosened up and ready to party!Īs showtime approached, we were led to the back of the bar where the stage was situated. Me and my wife drove down and had dinner before at a separate restaurant (their sister restaurant Superfrico was all booked up.) We strolled in about a half hour before showtime and found ourselves immediately in their Horse Dive Bar. I was hoping it would capture some of the magic I experienced in Vegas and let me just say it didn't disappoint!

When I found out the production team was gearing up to put on a show in Atlantic City (my home state of New Jersey) I was thrilled and immediately bought tickets.

I say 'settled' but it was really an incredible experience and I was a fan ever since. Unfortunately, the show didn't last long and I settled for their flagship Absynthe show at Ceasers. I quickly discovered Spiegelworld's brand of raunchy, anything goes, one ring circus style shows and I was hooked! (no pun intended.) At the time they had a new show called Vegas Nocturne which featured acrobats in flying bath tubs and something about a white rabbit getting struck dead by a archer who would shoot arrows with her legs. I remember doing a fair amount of research for my crazy fun Vegas at 40 trip.

Sorry for extended details here, but it it hard to talk about just The Hook as I feel the entire experience is what makes places like these so memorable. Tl dr It was an amazing night! It was raunchy, unpredictable, and hilarious, just like I expected.
